An amazing variety of fish and shell fish crowd the Vietnamese fish markets. Eveything is just caught, bought on the dock, and put out for local sale.

Hey Gloria,

I like this shot, not because of its technical result, but for your effort of sharing a real Vietnamese life.

I wasn't in Hoian during my tours in 'Nam. I was based in Danang Freedom Hill area and the road from here to Hoian has been very bloody. The S. Korean Tiger Division was in charge over the stretch between this town to Vinhdien: the VCs and the Koreans exchanged deaths almost every night.

Your photo taken some 35 years later is just the same way of life I saw: "fresh to markets and to customers without being frozen". I can tell you that I could smell the fishes by looking at this bit of memory...

This is a good daily life scene, the fish and the seller, the angle of shot feels like we are leaning over, about to pick a fish for lunch. the red background and overexposure is a little distracting, but i take it for the candid shot it is. Well done.

Hi Gloria, I hope all is well with you these days. A lively and informative shot of the fishmonger at work, with a nice variety of freshly caught fish displayed on the table. Interesting colorful market setting in the back.
