Back to my Vietnam pictures...

We went to this museum, the name, I already forgot. On the way to the entrance, I saw this character who looks like Ho Chi Minh. Man, I need to take his picture! But the tour guide wanted us fast to the gate. I looked at him with a sad face, though his gaze never met mine. "Too bad", I said, "If it's not meant to be..."

Anyway we went around the museum and after almost an hour of tour inside we went out through the gate the we entered. To my surprise, he was still there. And we was reading the same magazine. But he has this empty look...a compelling empty gaze. I can only surmise...

Be back tomorrow to cirtic pictures.

Hi Manny,
Very good portrait.
Very sharp and neat also.
The DOF is perfect and his gaze is greatly catched.

Manuel,
this is a really good portrait - a bit unusual, but there are so many things I like here - the man's posture, the way he holds the magazine, his beard, than this kind of 'new wave' hairstyle like back from the '80s.
His face expression is interesting and it seems that this man has many stories to tell!
Robi

very nice. technically beautiful. it's kind of sad and funny at the same time (the pee wee herman hairdo...). glad you could catch it.

Very good portrait Manu.
Technically perfect.
Take care

A genuinely interesting character you found here, Manny. Interesting posture in the way he is holding the magazine, and the striped trousers are a good detail, too. Nice use of shallow DOF to isolate your subject from the surroundings.

what a hair cut! he has a really strange look.. maybe not so much an empty gaze but more a wondering one...? maybe still thinking over what he has been reading...?
anyway, nice crop and beautiful tender portrait! i like the fact that you cropped at his trousers level at the bottom and his hair cut at the top.
Eric

Good capture of his thoughtful expression,Manuel!
Again very good use of sharpness and dof.
Beautiful colors and contrasts.
Excellent portrait work!

A fabulous portrait of a strange looking guy. What a haircut, and that beard, and then his expression. The way he holds his hands is captivating. Perfect exposure and sharpness, beautiful

Manny, good catch! I like more his hairdo. He is one up on Ho Chi Minh now. Also , I think he will have a long life because of his big ears! Old folks in the philippines say if you have big ears you will havwe a long life. His ears satrt from the top of his eyebrows to the bottom of his nose.

WOW! The clarity and colors are excellent! I also like the blurred background, makes me think seriously of buying an SLR :) He has a very natural pose, and his hair and beard are eye-catching! I think the striped pants is also wonderful! Very beautiful composition, Manny! rgds!

Nice Portraight manny, I saw the same thing In the South peoples Gaze In that Country Is haunting, What with communism & America attacking them is it any wonder they look that way. Now Back to the Picture Very captivating, Nice Compositition but not perfect after all its just a portraight shot Nonetheless Good Focusing and Good Cropping.

the composition is as usual..very good and nice... and wat a cute uncle u got there.. i like the hair..haha.. and also the way he look at you.. really nice..!! nice colors too anyway..

Your pictures are always "quality". Sharpnes - comp - colours just perfect. Tnis one is no exception - great shot.

Maybe this is a very wise man. Looking in his reading disguise to all the visitors and thinking: Yes, that guy will come back after the tour to take a picture from me. You can see that I that he is trying not to laugh for he was right.

Great shot manny, as usual! This guy is such a funny character not only his empty looks also his hair gel style beard and the way how he sits is ultra hip fashion which doesn’t fit to and 50+ years old man. You did a great job with spotting him, thank you so much for sharing.

It’s a funny one too, Manuel
It looks like he has lost his tong too not only his teeth
This person is very interesting , looks old and has old features but his hairdo looks quit young and modern

Maybe he was impressed by your looks

Hi Manny,
I'm glad he was left, but you leave curious about why he looks like that and why he just sits there doing nothing. I like his hairdo too. Technically really good shot, the patches of light in the back are great. Don't know about the halos (from USM?) though, a bit too much, athough it's kind of artistic I must admit. Well spotted anyway.

Simon

I like the portrait, clear & sharp. Kind of funny to see many elaborating comments from the pic :-). Since the man's look is interesting many have taken his pics, the man is also too old, more than 100 years old, he probably look at you like just another person who wanted to take his picture.
