Now we are squarely in the same visual territory, are we not? The more greenish tones you display here are more reminiscent of "cyclo" perhaps :o)
The passing Honda is a nice touch and well timed, still allowing enough clarity for the scene to emerge behind. It's significant that the woman on the right are really enjoying this litle toughie's exhibition.
An yes, they are tough!

Not an easy task for me, Luko. Trust me.
For I found not one but three of your photographs worthy of my deep applauding. The last three of the V-am series.
I conceived this one as a wonderful night theater stage, full of great actors.
The life's out there's boiling with normalcy of a never written script. You don't need any. You have to be there with your eyes wide open. And here you are… Right in the middle of their living room. Magic of a good photography? You bet it is!
Scooter passing in front of your lens…?!
Luko…This is the only picture with scooter whizzing by which I found not only justifiable but also great addition to your vision of the place and to your crispy note. I repeat: One and only picture where fuzzy motorcycle is just another great actor to the drama.
This is the live photography of the highest caliber.
This is the cold-blooded sniper's shot which pierced my stone heart and made me go limp.
I couldn't let it pass by.

Hi Luko,

Dans une ville où la pauvreté est omniprésente et où les gens passent sans s’arrêter, je trouve fascinant de voir à travers ton oeil cette scène de rue, qui frappe l’imagination. Comme tu le mentionnes dans ta note, ces gens totalement démunis ont pour seul atout la résilience.

Ce que je trouve fort dans cette photo, c’est justement ce motocycliste indifférent qui passe, croisant sans doute d’autres familles comme celle-ci le long de son parcours et parallèlement, ceux qui vivent sur le trottoir et dont l’interaction nous laisse penser qu’elle serait la même s’ils avaient un toit au-dessus de la tête. Une scène de famille comme il y en a dans chaque maison, vécue devant nos yeux...

Une excellente photo qui nous démontre ce que c’est que d’être démuni et pour bien nous faire comprendre que çà se passe dans la rue, une moto qui vient remplir de monoxyde les poumons de ces enfants. Deepest sh*t indeed...

I am trying to imagine this without the passing scooter… it wouldn’t have the same impact as it has know. I mean, that ‘simple object’ has created a division in your set, somehow separating the family into two pairs, each one acting a different role in your story. Your composition is brilliant too and boosts this double side appearance. Putting the two groups at each end of the frame and connecting them with that stripe of red brick was very well seen. The exposure is another thing I am studying here. It’s really good. The light and shadow game is so subtle. There is light giving clear details when it’s needed and that same light seems to fade in those areas where we really don’t need it. It’s kind of a natural vignette if I may say so. A great photo indeed.

Hello Luko.
Sacrément bien vu ca....le fond, triste, sale, dur, on sent toute la pauvreté de cette famille qui semble abandonné de tous....puis ce mouvement avec ce scooter sur le premier plan dans un excellent timing, qui vient monter encore un peu plus que tout le monde s'en fout et continue à vivre sa vie.
La lumière est superbement géré et ce côté sombre amplifie encore un peu l'ambiance.

wow man, in this shot the excitement of the streaking motorbike is totally overshadowed by whats happening in the background. Im very fond of scooter shots, they add so much interest but Im impressed in how the scooter plays a supporting role only.

That noise is very good, matching the blurred colors of the cyclist. Love all the 'static' action in the bg compared to the 'uncaring' passer-by. Good shot with great compo + nice lighting.

Nous assistons dans le fond à la guerre des générations entre Luko Skywalker et son père.

Et voilà que le jeune Luko reussit à sortir sa botte secret pour à la fois désarmer son père de son sabre laser et par la même occasion transpercer le crâne d'un autre ennemi dans son scooter inter-sidéral ... sous les yeux ébahis de maman Padmé et soeurette Leila ....

Une bataille dans le silence absolu, euh non ... un peu de bruit tout de même ...

Salut Luko, une superbe photo de nuit, ce que j'aime beaucoup ici (mis à part la superbe gestion de l'exposition) c'est les 2 groupes dans l'arrière-plan, terrible les expressions qu'ils ont, et en plus cette silhouette d'Honda Dream qui appuie le tout, et surtout qui nous guide vers cet arrière-plan qui se laisse deviner petit à petit, pas évident de faire ressortir quelque chose de lisible avec une telle complexité, du superbe boulot...

Bonsoir Luko,
parmi tes image récentes ,je trouve que celle-ci mérite un plus grand succès.
Tu mets ici à profit l’aptitude du 5 D à grimper dans les isosss avec beaucoup de douceur tout en offrant un grain esthétique.
Le point fort pour moi, c’est le rendu impressionnant de l’atmosphère de cette rue de Hanoi et j’entends presque la moto (qui apporte un vrai plus a l’image)
le rayon laser qui traverse la tête du pilote est assez énigmatique et nous rappelle que Dark vador adore lui aussi hanoi et peut surgir à tout moment ;alors ouvrons l’œil !

L'inclusion de la moto érige une barrière entre le spectateur et la scène, ce qui ne me semble pas trop dans tes habitudes. Mais cela lui donne une dimension cinématographique et permet de la lire au ralenti. Une vie peut finalement être faite de bien peu, et l'on s'aperçoit que ce peu est in fine l'essentiel, reléguant tout le reste au rang de superflu. La vitrine qui expose leurs biens ne semble pas plus achalandée que le filet avec la maigre récolte du pêcheur croisé pendant la nuit. Mais ceux-là qui n'ont rien et qui à la fois ont tout parce que seulement l'essentiel, d'où leur vient cette force si ce n'est de l'intérieur?

You may remember this little "chat" we had about capturing the notion of time with a camera. Well, this shot says it all.

Everybody's on with technique about X lens being 0.0001 sharper than Y or sensor or body or whatever. Looks to me like you have a supa-dupa feeling sensor ;-)
