Photographer’s Note
In the 15th century, when the Ming dynasty invased Vietnam, Le Loi and his men rose up in arms in Lam Son. In his hard time, a deity - in instance of a turtle - rose from a lake and gave Le Loi one miraculous sword. With that sword, Le Loi commanded his army and chased away the enemy...
One day, King Le Loi was strolling on a lake and the Turtle suddenly appreared. He asked King Le Loi to return his sword. The King knew that now his country was in peace and it's time to reconstruct the nation.
Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi is where the King returned the sword. It has been a symbol of Hanoi. For now, there is no sword or war but couples in love are strolling along the lakeshore in sparking night lights.
Peaceful Hanoi! Do you feel it the same way?
