A scavenger hunt for the fourth wee one shoudn't prove difficult... Picture from the lush mountainscape of Lao Cai district - a nice cool retreat in sultry Viet Nam - and home to a half dozen or more montagnard hill tribes.

Provia 100 slide scanned with a Canon FS4000 slide scanner and adjusted in CS2: the reds on film were too heavy - desaturation on those and background - experiments with selective sharpening. Slight halos, an unintended result of inexperienced selecting.

Hi Caleb,
This one is a splendid composition with triple portraits. Focusing on the central lady creates a great DOF. I love the way they form a triangle, and how they carry the same garments. Red scarfs on thier heads create three different red centers of attention. And each of them have a different expression and look at different directions. This adds a lot of dynamism. Very joyful photo to look at for a long time.
Cheers,
Deniz

Hi Celeb, your images always enthuse me with energy and I start looking at them like a student to learn the finer points and tricks! These three are so beautifully captured with such superb colours and lights, their expressions are great. You always craft good images that leave people wondering. nice work.

Hi Caleb,

E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T image, very well composed with a diagonal formed by your subjects. I like the different attitude they all have, particularly the one smiling at you. Their costumes is full of details, thanks to your selected focus on the girl in the middle, who shows the most texture and motifs.

Great neutralization of background to detach your subjects.

Cheers!

hi Caleb,
nice compo, with 3 different postion and expression of thos ladies,i like so many details in the clothes as the colors.great pp too.

aah, this is beautiful Caleb. The details are exquisite. The left shoulder of the girl on the right looks strange. Effect of blurring on PS?

Prantik

Three different expressions, with the colors of the traditional clothing contrastingly with the dull/muted green background. It makes you wonder, even though the clothing are utilitarian in nature, it is no less haute couture than those on Park Avenue. At most times, you even wonder whether those summer/fall/winter/spring collection strutting on the runways, ever get to the streets.

The variety of expressions
The level of distrust
The dispositin of the Dazao across the frame
The one dtaring straight at you
Are what make this picture...

It can be easily on the cover of National Geographic magazine. Splendid...
