This picture was taken at the village of Sapa, in Northern Vietnam.

If you are lucky enough to be there on a clear day, the surrounding hills are stunning... (or so I presume - it was foggy during my stay). While there, I heard that they soon will open an airport nearby, which would bring masses of tourists to Sapa and the surrounding untouched villages. I'm afraid that the traditions will be lost - or will be kept only to amuse the tourists, like I felt in Sapa.

Women from this region wear big silver earrings and necklaces. The only souvenir I brought back from the region was three different single earrings bought at a nearby weekly market. They are now individually framed, hanging on my wall.
