Nice picture and very interesting note!
I suppose 'split personality' is the same of all places in the world. I like the balance that you made between the serious boy and the funny boy.
Well done Manuel :)

Fantastic photo. The contrast in personalities is great and reflects your title and commentary very well.

great shot and great note Manny! i can tell you were using f1.8... you know why, no need to explain.;-) it works very fine here to add contrast between the serious and the playing kids. nice street shot! ( so to speak in a museum...)

My first inclination is I would have preferred greater depth of field so both boys would be in focus, but then I read your excellent note and reconsidered the image in light of the contrast you describe. It really works on that level. The composition and colors are fine and your insightful vision is evident. Well considered and presented Manny.

Very good picture, love your note and your point of view, you picked great faces for your picture, and the DOF is very good and suits your note.

Hi Manny, very good notes to begin with. I like your composition and your DOF very much. You captured both their looks so well, and it's funny to see, that kids are the same everywhere, once you see a photographer, make funny faces. The boy in focus really looks like a serious student, and he's got a nice expression. Thanks.

Hello Manuel, I found your notes very existing. Also your picture is great, I like its composition, and its pure colour scheme.

Wow Manuel! I like oppositions of all kinds put together. I like this one a lot because of that. In my opinion you succeded in all ways here. Opposed cultures, attitude, expression and the more active boy is blured, so the balance between the two works just perfectly! I have admiration for your work, I like it a lot, and these are shots I'm still not able to do. Very fine work Manuel!

Manny, the right boy looks more like Harry Porter to me :) interesting face expression, nicely captured.

The boy in the foreground is quite serious compared to the second who breathes the joy in life.
Still a very good photography and a very interesting note always.
Very well Manny.

Very nice photo.
Great focus on the first kid and blur on the second.
The constrast is also great.
Thanks for sharing!

You have well seen the duality and the contrast between these two boys. Their face expressions are very revealing. I would have liked to see the second boy also in focus, because it seems to me he is part of the main subject. But the composition is great.

Very useful note! But infact, in my own idea, this picture also show us that we have a distance between rich and poor, fat and thin!

Did you go all this way to find Harry Potter and his friend-whose-name-I-don't-remember-I'll-have-to-ask-my-daughter?
The kids could do anything behind his back, I wouldn't bother, my eyes are glued to his dramatically -or comically, I wonder..- look. Another wellfare about wide open aperture shooting ;-)...
Exposure is spot on, which is quite difficult with all these white areas.
Not jumping on the floor, banging the walls with my head with this one, but technically it's VERY clean...I only wish it had something more original.

Hi Manny. This guy is certainly the Vietnamese Harry Potter, like Luko has mentioned. Actually, Luko's critique is pretty much perfect in covering my thoughts here. Technically, this is excellent. Good control of DOF, very nice exposure and sharpness is good. With the technicals being top notch, I also agree with Luko that this is not the most original or impactful of your shots. Good work Manny, not your best, but still very good.

I like it. And your note really gives a meaning to this image. It's true that us westerners see asians more like the serious little boy. Images of children are nice to look at but I like them even more when there is a story supporting them.

My initial thought also was "Harry Potter" ;-) ... Very well-framed scene, Manny, in which I like how you used the focus - sharpest on the Vietnamese boy, a bit softer on the clowning one in the middle, and very soft on a third one in the back. A truly interesting catch of many levels of "opposites" in this one, and as so often a very meaningful note to go with it. Well done.
I see that Maciekda followed your path :)
Really funny picture and interestingly backed by your comment. I like this contrast very much, but the color composition too. That's a multidimensional picture !!!
What is Luko's USM version ?

Great capture of these sweet children Manny! :-) I love the way you focused on the one with the glasses - he is quite a character! :-)) The other one brings a lot of joyful mood in the shot, as well as a good ballance. I love it!
Excellent job!
