Hoi An at Night: A Starry Starry Night

If you think you have nothing to do at night in Hoi An, you are absolutely wrong! The old town of Hoi An turns into a fairy land at night, with colourful lanterns lighted up everywhere, especially along the banks of Hoi An River. Not only that, the shops also opened till 10pm - you can still enjoy night shopping in the old town. What's amazing about after dusk in Hoi An is the wide variety of selections for drinking and dining. The cafes, restaurants and bars are opened till midnight with a number of them opening till 2 AM. So, if you wish to drink and unwind in the ancient town or have a snack or supper at night, simply head for the Hoi An town. Even if you don't want to shop nor eat/drink, take a stroll along the Hoi An river in the old town. It's worth it!

hello Thanh,

Again beautiful lights and a very nice nightshot. I loved the lanterns so much ! They give a wonderfull light. A photo with atmosphere !
greetings, inn

You have well managed light condition of this nightshot. I can feel a lot of reality from this one. The total-black areas have been properly balanced with the lite-up areas.
Technically, this is a successful journalist capture.
Congrats!
George

During my life in Florida, I didn't have chance to taste this atmosphere.
During my military tour in Thua-Thien/Hue, I only see the darkness since my unit stationed in a non-electric village.
I returned to Danang twice after the war to do humanitarian works for Hai Chau commune, but still didn't have an overnight stay in Hoi An (less than 20 miles away) to enjoy this "world".
I cannot wait until 2008 to come back to Danang...
Thanks, brother!
Mike

Hello Thanh,
What your note tells in words, your picture shows it beautifully: the restaurant, the shop, the light (so nice the yellow tint)... they are here - and some tourists enjoying all these...
The atmosphere is well caught - convincing.
A good work, Thanh (including the technical aspect of the picture, too)!
Thank you.

Hi Mr. Thanh:
I do not know much about photography but I knew that if I want to learn about "night-time picture taking", this must be a good lesson for novice like me.
Thank you.

Pierre.
