En voyant la vignette, j'ai bien cru qu'il s'agissait d'une sorte de peinture ! Les couleurs sont tellement chaudes et lumineuses que l'on a cette impression en voyant ta photographie ! 1/10 de seconde sans bouger ! Félicitations ! Une belle image bien nette !

Hi Vincent,
I have seen some Hoi An photo's from Furachan and they all had a total different view on that town than you show us. I like that, depsite if i like the pictures or not, i like to see different views from different photographers.
Your has nice warm light, a great mood in a fantastic colour setting. I hope to be there next year to see this with my own eyes.
Image looks a bit tilted looking to the houses, but can also be that i am fooled by the construction and the pov.

I had here only a breakfast stopover during a bustrip.Great shot of these old houses and the canal in wonderful light.
It looks very peacefull,but I`ve heard this village is very touristic.

Oh la la, comme il n'y a personne !!! Moi, c'était toujours blindé à cet endroit et j'ai l'impression de découvrir un nouveau Hoi An !? Cette ambiance "or" est marrante et donne un ton surrané qui sied bien à l'endroit.

Very beautiful image. I like the warm glow of the late afternoon sun and the from the lanterns hanging from the balcony's and eaves. The reflection adds depth to the image and was a very good decision to include it. Well done!

Thanks for sharing this beautiful picture of Ha Noi, my absolute favorite place in Viet Nam! I was there in 1994, and looking at this almost dreamy picture it seems nothing essential has changed - it looks like I was walking there only yesterday.

I love the atmosphere you have captured with the lanterns a casting golden tones on the buildings. The glimpse of reflections in the river is also a good element in the scene. Well done for hand-holding too.

Une belle image ici avec une composition serrée qui utilise bien les différents plan. Le tout est baigné par une lumière fantastique. Je regrette juste que tu aies coupé le quai sur le bas à gauche qui a mon avis aurait accentué la profondeur de l'image?

A very attractive, romantic and colourful presentation of this famous place. Did you read Francis's (furachan) comments on the prettification and disneyfication of this town? The feeling that it has been tarted up for the tourists, to the point where it almost ceases to have any authenticity. How do it appear to you? Oh course Thailand leads the world in touristifying and tarting up historical sites for the tourists. I hope Vietnam doesn't do too much of it. At any rate, It makes a lovely picture with sweet soft colours and a nice direct composition.I hope you have more shot of this place. Regards kevin

C'est bien de voir qu'ils ont retire les voitures (et les scooters ?) de cet endroit pour rendre la promenade plus agreable, cette atmosphere du soir est sympa a cause des lumieres qui scintillent a divers endroits, avec leurs couleurs ca fait festif. L'ensemble me semble pencher a droite.

I remember one of your other shots from Hoi An taken in light like this, Vincent - it certainly does give it a fairy tale atmosphere. Good sharpness for a hand hand shot at 1/10th, but isn't it a little tilted to the right? Cheers . . . David

Respirez ou ne pas respirez,bonne question.
La réponse,ne pas oublier de reprendre son souffle après,il faut montrer la photo.
à tous les mois d'octobre,nous avons au jardin botanique de Montréal,le festival des lanternes au jardin chinois.Alors,de voir le décor traditionnel,une vraie ville,comme à l'époque;je trouve celà stimulant,la coutume existe encore et quel bonheur pour toi d'avoir été là à ce moment là.
Bravo pour cette belle composition qui est en fait une scène de vie de tous les jours,un beau cadre avec cette rivière en premier plan,lumières chaudes et une bonne netteté à 1/10 sec,ce que je ne réussis plus à faire.

la lumière et les couleurs sont étonnantes, ont quelques tons chauds très agréables à vue.
Très bien capté l'atmosphère de la rue, dans un cadrage très effectif avec les maisons réfléchies dans l'eau.
Il y a beaucoup d'éléments et détails pour voir dans cette scène, avec ces lampions de couleurs qu'ils se détachent par ses formes et sa lumière.
Sans trépied, à 1/10s, sans respirer ..... quel bon pouls.
Un bon travail.

Quelle surprise! J'ai justement dejeuner sur cette terrace l'annee derniere (en haut a droite)! Hoi An est une ville magique. J'espere sincerement qu'elle restera typique et qu'elle ne souffrira pas du tourisme croissant dans cette region. On commence deja a voir des hotels de grand luxe ouvrir dans les alentours... je compte aussi retourner la bas des que la saison des pluies est terminee!!
Tres belle photo en tout cas. Tu as capture l'ambiance unique de ce village aux milles merveilles.

Long time that I've seen such a nice moody streetscape Vincent with the warm evening light contrasting the bluish Tl-light coming from ou the homes, the peaceful activities against the yellow facades reflected in the water, a very nice scene taken at the golden hour.
