Almost landing at the Danang Airport in Central Vietnam. This is the Han River, i think, maybe also called Danang River. Noticed the shadow of the plane as we descend.

History (from Wikipedia)
In 1847, French vessels bombard Đà Nẵng in response to persecution of Catholic missionaries.

In August 1858, French troops landed under the orders of Napoleon III, beginning colonial occupation in the area. As a concession it was renamed Tourane in French. It came to be considered one of Indochina's five major cities. During the Vietnam War the city was home to a major American air base. The population has once been increased to over 1 million habitants, mostly refugees.

Before 1997, the city was part of Quảng Nam-Đà Nẵng province. On January 1, 1997, Đà Nẵng was separated from Quảng Nam province to become the 4th municipality of Vietnam.

Oh, muddy waters of Vietnam!... Photographing through the airplane-window is not so easy and the result is frequently not so nice - but you did well. Good composition with the bonus of the shade of your jet! :-)
Regards
Janos

Hi Murray,
Very good shot from the above!Except the beautiful view and the perspective to the the far mountains, there is the extra bonus of the plane's shadow!

Greetings,
Thomas

Hi, Murray,
what a great view! I love the bright green land below and that jet shadow is just awesome. Amazing you got such a great shot through a plane window. Well done! Kind regards,
Shelly

Hi Murray, I love this type of photo, with the shadow of a plane or a balloon on the ground &, this is a great example, your POV could no have been better, very good prospective, excellent light, you have managed this shot superbly, looking out of a plane window could not be easy to get a great picture like this, great effort, & the overall depth is superb, kind regards Wilson.

Hi Murray

I like the intense green of the rice paddies below & the shadow of the aircraft. I've been across that bridge. I flew from Bkk to Danang & got a minibus straight to Hoi An. It's not the Hue River, though, which is about 70 km north west. It's probably the Han River. Tributaries are the Cam Le & Cei Rivers. See:

Hi Murray,

A nice image of the Han river and of the mountains, the photo has a good composition, DOF and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Murray,
The banks of this river looks very fertile. Nice inclusion of the plane shadow as it adds dynamics to the compo. Well captured and good POV. Well done! tfs

Hi Murry
very fine ariel view here! especially love the giant silhouette of the plane... details of the landscape are very fine too. well taken.
Cheers

Hello Murray,

A very effective photo of your flight approaching the Danang Airport. The tiny boats represent a good calibration rod for the scale, and to a lesser extent the shadow of the airplane. The muddy colors of the river are classic Danang River (from all the pictures i've seen). The square format — a "carper" — works very well here.

Warm regards,

Bulent

very nice picture, I like the plane reflection on ground
