Hi Henk,

According to her facial features, I would never have thought that this girl would have been Vietnamese. Maybe it's the veil that fooled me, since it's not a traditional clothing piece we associate with these people neither.

Good condition to create this portrait, with very soft light, original angle, genuine expression and casual moment. A good use of telephoto to achieve this strong bokeh. I like the limited amount of colours.

looks more like taken in the middle east, may be because of the way she put the headscarf on... the title is a good choice looking at her face... the vivid colour of the scarf and the beeds add a happy mood to the shot though... nice portrait henk...

Hello Henk,

Your second installment from your recent SE Asian trip continues to please. I believe that you have captured the vibrant and exotic colour of this girl's clothing. I think that people in western cultures have a lot to learn from these people, we should wear more colours! The yellow beads contrast very effectively with the warm pink material. Her expression is what makes the photo uniquely enjoyable, the viewer can rally grasp her thought and emotion clearly. Thanks again, I very much look forward to the rest.

Het is mooi dat jij haar van op zij en niet heelemaal in het kader voor je compositie hebt gekozen. Sij is inderdaad diep in gedachten en ik vind dat heel mooi. De rose hoofd doek met kralen valt goed in het oog en past mooi rondom haar gezicht. Een prachtig portret van een prachtige vrou.

deep thoughts indeed, I like a lot the slight tilt of her head, for me it shows that she is relaxed, but very attentive. love the colour of her shawl and how the cloth contrasts with the golden ornaments. the gentle folds of the shawl perfectly frame her face, just a beautiful portrait.

What an unusual find in Vietnam Henk. I love the reflective expression you captured on her face, as though deep in thought. The colour of her veil is perfect for catching the eye in the first place. Your slightly high POV suits her pose. Technically excellent of course.

This girl's face is at an unusual angle for a portrait but the image works well to convey her thoughtfulness. The vivid colour of her headdress really makes the shot striking.

Hi Henk,
don't get me wrong but every time I see a portrait from you I'm even more convinced that you are a soul-hunter. Here on TE we have the chance to see a good number of portraits..always beautiful, with great quality, great tecnique and light management but what I miss most of the time is the soul of the portrait coming out of my monitor to give me the incredible feeling I get looking at one of yours..no exception for this one, of course. There is nothing to criticize, just enjoy the amazing picture and I'd like to think she's listening the "adagio in G minor" from Albinoni instead of the beautiful local music. This is a great piece of art.

Het slechte weer heeft u op andere gedachten gebracht, en het portret heeft zijn gading gevonden.
Ik vind deze beter dan uw vorige Henk, misschien is het de traditionele kledij dat het doet.
Het is een streel zachte foto, misschien door de kleuren en de licht getinte huid van het meisje, mooi gedaan.

Oeh Henk, wat een pracht-plaat maar weer. Veel regen en weinig zon zei je toch? Nou, deze plaat heeft er niet onder geleden!
Prachtig wat een compositie en wat een scherpte! Wat een prachtige DoF; Ik zou gedacht hebben dat f/2.8 het veel te shallow zou maken, maar dat hangt ook heel erg van de lens af denk ik. Heel erg mooi. Kijk hier graag naar!
En ook nog een prima note.

Outstanding portrait and you not only composed this photo beautifully, but you captured her in a deep state of "meditation" by her listening to the music. I like profile portraits and this portrait is marvelous! This beautiful lady is attired with beautiful clothing. The Pow Wow that I attended last weekend had many beautiful women with beautiful clothing with fantastic Native American designs and colors. You would have gone crazy at this Pow Wow. The Asians also have a wonderful sense of colors and elegance in their ceremonial dress. A real masterpiece!

Olá Henk, to be honest this one doesn't excite me as much as that wonderful previous smile. But, as I said before, it's always a pleasure to look at any photo of your gallery. What stands out here is her candid expression beautifully wrapped in pink. The golden details stand out nicelly and the quality of the image is impressive - it seems that the 70-200m is perfect for this kind of shots, where we are at a safe distance from people.

Beautiful sharpness and focus. Great details and colors contrasting perfectly with the soft blurred background. Vivid colors. I could even see & feel the lints on top of her head dress. I was testing out this lens today. I would be happy if it could come out half as good as this in term of clarity. Perhaps I was shooting at 1/150 sec & slower with full aperture opening & focal length. Looking at your exposure data I should perhaps aim at 1/200 & faster if possible. TFS. Regards. Latiff.
