Photographer's Note

I continue my little series of photos from the streets of Baku. Again this is a set of three photos, so please have a look at the workshops too.

The photos are all from the central parts of Baku. It is a very large city, so even when I walked quite long distances from the smart and trendy areas near the old town and the long water-front, I was still in the city centre according to the map.

This is one of those streets far from the touristy centre but in the heart of a city with strong reminiscences of the Soviet Union. There were lots of grandiose façades and scruffy side-streets. I took this photo mainly for the architecture but managed to include some people as well.

The workshops show mainly small talk, one featuring a bookseller, the other one an American café.
