Hi Daniel,
This is beautiful & nice soft light.
But I think the colour one is a bit better.

Hello Daniel,
After gone through the W/S, I think this B/W format is more suitable that created a special nightscene atmosphere on the street hawker from HK!
good portrait of a daily life!
many thanks for the sharing
warmest regards

hello Dan,
I think I prefer the colour version in the WS, I find that the neon blue/green cast adds to the mood and intrigue of the scene. but my favourite element is the steam rising from the plates on the tables, together with the enveloping darkness it reminds me of scenes from some cyber-punk movie, "Blade Runner" may be. interesting work, I like it.
regards,
Kristine

B&W is not my favourite medium but this one works very well with the outside being almost totally in darkness. The cold colour tone of the colour version doesn't seem to evoke the same atmosphere. Well done

Hey Dan,
The kind of street dining culture we call Dai Pai Dongs are becoming extinct. After SARS epidemic the health and hygiene department has taken precautions on cleanliness specially in teahouses and restaurants all over the territory. I do admit these kind of 'vernacular' dining culture has the tastiest dishes. Due health and hygiene concerns since 2003 I haven't been to such eateries. Well I did have a snack somewhere in Wanchai last weekend, hey its very good and cheap!
I like the documentary feel of the image, the B&W makes it look 'those where the days...' I like this version better than the coloured one (didn't like the white-balance, though very 80's looking)
Cheers!

Hello Daniel! What an exciting scan and I really like that you have a lot of dark around fully focusing on the night market and the lights, this gives a more inside feeling for me. There are interesting smells at these markets and when I was in Asia I mostly ate at the markets and most of the time we were spoilt with wonderful foods but when I read Jom's text above me at least in China they are soon history so your photo becomes a new value. Very good work indeed. Regards ... Barbara.

Hi Daniel,
I am really curious to hear about this new method. How much of a difference it compared to the regular photoshop method? I like the soft effect in the shot, a good atmosphere.
Thanks for sharing,
Shaeri
