Nice photo.

Hi Yuri,

I like the dark colours in the sky right down to the horizon. Your composition is good. You have no Photographer's note to explain this picture at all. You also have 200K for which to post an image and you used less than 60K and have lost so much detail and introduced so much noise.

Cheers
Jamie.

Hi, Yuri,
Nice colours, nice stormy clouds and great subject, but the photo lacks overall punch. This is mainly because you should leave space where the boat is heading, so that it opens up the image. Here I get the feel that the boat will fall out the frame. A good effort but this is one of the major rulrs you must apply when you have a moving subject in the frame.
Cheers Grant

Hi Yuri,

You know normally I like my boats entering the frame .. but this works with the boats fleeing the storm .. great blues and tone as well .. really makes the point.

take care,

John

Hi Yuri,
Impressive light. All those blue tones are special. I actually like the composition too, it gives an impression of heading to harbour before the storm.

Nice shot. Good point on Grant's part that allowing space for a subject to move into is one of the basic rules, but "must" is never a word for these rules. I agree with jmcl here that the rules are made to be broken. The trailing waves provide movement out of the storm and it works very well here.

Jamie, however is right about the low quality image. It was the 1st thing I noticed upon opening the thumbnail and I was sad to see it. You've robbed us of the detail and smoothness of your great shot by allowing your photo editing software to over-compress it. Please give us the full 200K TE allows!

And finally, a note is always nice.

Thanks for a great scene!

Hi Yuri,
I have to agree with some of the other critiques. This is a great capture, but it is flawed by the lack of sharpness. Cheers, Paul.
