Photographer’s Note

In Havana, there are small islands of colors where illuminated men repaint the life.
The old houses become animated and the walls look at you.
The colors shine and the sky misleads your eyes.
Even insane horses left their prints, and of the words appear.
In Cuba, the expression is sensitive then one is delirious on the walls.

This mural fresco forms part of a whole of paintings which covers a whole district and which is the work of a man who worked all his life there.

A La Havane, il y a des îlots de couleurs où des illuminés repeignent la vie.
Les vieilles maisons s’animent et les murs vous regardent.
Les couleurs flashent et le ciel vous trompe l’œil.
Même des chevaux fous ont laissé leurs empreintes, et des paroles apparaissent.
A Cuba, l’expression est sensible alors on délire sur les murs.

Cette fresque murale fait partie d’un ensemble de peintures qui couvre tout un quartier et qui est l’œuvre d’un homme qui y a travaillé toute sa vie;

Superbe cette image, je me demandais vraiment ce que c'etait...en fait la plupart des murs devraient etre decores comme ca, c'est tellement mieux que le gris betonneux. En plus tu nous composes l'image parfaitement, tout est clean et nickel ici.

Good vivid color you have caught in this image Bertrand, I notice from the images in Cuba that I have seen that bright colours seem to be everywhere, very well done.

Interesting note and depiction of this mural. In UK you should never have horse-shoes this way up as your luck will run out!

La vie qui s'imprime sur les murs, les mots non-dits qui prennent la forme de pictogrammes, la liberté par des couleurs chatoyantes.
Très bon cadrage avec beaucoup de détails (l'on voit les marques des raccords du béton banché).
Une bien belle image à tous points de vue.

Très intéressant. Cela me fait penser aux peintures avec l'oeil "Dieu vous voit", qu'on voyait avant partout dans le temps chez nous. Très bels couleurs et très bien cadré. Bien fait.

"I´m haunting you" tells de phrase. Eye haunting because I could not avoid to stop in this photo and have a look. Quite a different from the white Ronda portrait you posted but as strong, almost visually speaking. Colors in Cuba are like alive, they have the power to speak to the subconscious. jolie fresque, mais j'aurais aime aprecevoir un peu d'element exterieur (coin de mur, fenetre, ...) histoire de donner un peu plus de relief et de vie à cette belle image. Cuba est une destination dont nous n'avons pas eu le plaisir de profiter grace à un celebre Tour Operator (Thomas C.) qui nous avait vendu un autotour ... sans voiture ! Voyage annulé 15 j avant le depart, et destination de secours en Martinique!

Bien vu cette photo. Les couleurs sont "pétantes" et comme tu dis, faut sans doute être un peu "illuminé" pour s'éclater ainsi. En tout cas j'aime bien. Ce n'est pas sans rappeler le film cubain "Liste d'Attente" (par le réalisateur de Fraise et Chocolat) qui part en vrille avec majesté vers la fin du film. Vive les Cubains.
