Le barbier et le jeune Président Photo

Cette échope de barbier semblait déjà intéressante vue de l'extérieur, encore fallait-il l'apercevoir... Un vrai trou-dans-le-mur, où il y avait à peine suffisamment d'espace pour me faufiler avec mon backpack, alors je me suis assis dans le coin opposé en utilisant la focale à 16mm.

Le garçon était timide au début, alors je parlais avec le barbier sans prendre de photos, mais après 5 minutes, il était plus relax et j'ai alors pris quelques shots. À un moment, il a regardé le coin du "salon" avec un look "présidentiel", un mélange de fierté et de résilience. C'est à ce moment que j'ai pris cette photo.

Bien que la photo soit parfaitement sharp, on peut voir le bras du barbier bouger, à cause de la pose de 1/10 sec.

J'aime beaucoup la description que tu fais du moment de la prise, c'est très intéressant.
Une prise originale bien faite et réussie. J'aime ce moment de vie à des années lumières des clichés habituels.

Hello André,

Une image de tout les jours. L'ambiance coloré de cette salle de barbier donne un bonne ambiance à cette image.
Je dois dire que j'ai tout de même de la peine à coller avec cette photographie. Pourtant il s'agit d'un moment de vie amusant à plus d'un titre. (y compris pour les fabuleux posters qui semblent orner le fond de la pièce !!) Mais sans la note, je ne pense pas que j'aurais saisi ce que tu voulais montrer dans cette scène.

Pas de doute! Au vu des posters, c'est un coiffeur pour hommes! J'aime bien ce genre de photos "scènes de vie" que tu sais si bien photographier. Ne me dis pas que même à Cuba on s'"obamaïse"....ne risquent-ils pas d'être déçus?

Could it be your downsizing went a litle wrong? Those jaggies are distracting...

Hi Andre,
Not an image i would expect from your hand, so it's quiet surprising to see something like this. The boy his pose looks indeed presidential, straight forward with a proud attitude. Light control is excellent, low light with just 1/10 is very good exposed.
The small room, the simple equipment, yes it's so typical Cuba, but very interesting to photograph...

Bonjour, André. Très belle image de ce salon de coiffure. J'aime beaucoup l'utilisation du miroir qui nous permet de voir l'autre partie de la pièce et l'aspect vieillot qui fait un peu penser à un film des années 50. Bon cadrage en diagonale avec les sujets principaux dans l'ace entre les cadres et illustrations du haut.

Bonsoir André,
l'Obamania est omniprésente ! jusque dans les échoppes de barbiers... C'est vrai que ce jeune client a fière allure.
J'aime bien comme tu décris la démarche, patiente, qui a mené à cette photo. C'est instructif, il faut parfois prendre le temps avant d'instaurer un climat de confiance et pouvoir shooter.
Belles couleurs également.

superbe photo... que je verrai bien dans un magazine. J'aime bien le côté rétro du salon et la façon dont tu as maitrisé la lumière. Et puis double bravo pour le titre... fallit le trouver ;o)

Hello André.
One of the favourite ocupations for most of photographers to have some shots - babers.
Don't know why, maybe the signs of the past that some of them still show, undoubtebly they are attracive.
Curiously, here is the boy with this presidential attitude which is having most of the attentions but the whole environment and the mirror's reflections are also very nice points of your photo.

Reading your notes about pictures you've taken of people is teaching me something about why some of us can photograph people, and why some people like me, can't! (for now anyway!) I'm learning, so thanks for the advice!
The photo nicely captures a small scene, I like the natural expression on his face and I think it's been exposed nicely with a good white balance considering it's inside a building with artificial light. The colours look natural.

I really like this image of daily life in Cuba, I like your approach when taking picture of people. My opinion is you can never just go up to someone and just started photogpraphing. For one it's kind of rude two it really doesn't leave that much impression on you. If you do have some king of interaction, a conversation, a connection of some sort. That make it more meaningful and they look more natural and at ease. Well done on this one. It reminded me a little of a Normal Rockwell illustration and drawing. Thanks

Hi Andre,

I love barber pictures and like to have my picture taken at the barber's wherever I travel. Also I usually need a trim when abroad...

This is great. Wonderful, plain colour (green, blue, white, yellow), perfect positioning and well captured. The movement of the arm is no problem. That's what barber's arms do. It might even have been blurred more for me.

But the best thing about the picture has to be the look of the customer, head held high, facing the future, self-assured...or am I being mislead by that title?

Really nice one - it captures the flavor of this locale so well. The boy's expression and the concentration of the barber doing his work, as well as the captured reflection in the mirror round up this splendid daily life scene.
