Photographer’s Note

Il s’agit d’une Desoto 1955, plus longue, plus large et plus élégante que tous les modèles précédents de la marque. Elle était également plus colorée et pouvait être offerte avec d’énormes panneaux de couleurs aux formes éfilées sur la FireFlite Convertible comme celle-ci.

DeSoto a également introduit une des premières voitures a avoir 3 tonalités de peinture. Le modèle sedan le plus complet à 3,151 $ était disponible dans une resplendissante palette de blanc, noir et turquoise... question de bien s’intégrer à la couleur du mélangeur de la cuisine.

Hi Andre,
One of the main reasons for me visiting Cuba was because of these old cars and although i don't like (modern) cars at all, it was great to see these remains from the past and some in excellent condition.
I never saw this DeSoto model and sure it looks great. It's scary to see how straight those lines from the buildings are using your 16m/m, no distortion at all...technically perfect my friend...realy really good work here...!!!!

J'espèque qu tu vas bien, près pour l'hiver.

mangigiqeu cette voiture, quel cadrage, elle brille, elle a tété polishée parfaitement, avec le bâtiment qui a presque la mêmem teinte, superbe fondu.

Hello André,

Excellent ! Alors que je fini à peine une série sur des épaves de voitures anciennes, tu me prouves qu'elles sont tout de même mieux sur la route et en couleur !! Le genre de vue et de couleur qui me fait penser aux images saturées de la série "Les Experts Miami" Excellente image bien cadrée.

je n'y connais pas grand chose en voiture,mais il faut dire que celle-ci est vraiment belle!Mais autant que sa beauté,c'est sa position dans le cadre qui est belle,mais aussi le fait qu'il y ait une grande harmonie de sa couleur avec les couleurs du fond de l'image,les nuages et les immeubles ayant la même teinte dorée que certaines parties de la voiture!Superbe!

Déjà bravo pour le titre (tu vas concourir pour intégrer les TALC de l'ami Tapdur!). La photo, elle, est parfaite. Tu as même fait l'effort de convoquer un soleil couchant pour assortir les couleurs des immeubles à celle de la rutilante carrosserie. Moi non plus je Nikkonais pas grand chose en vieille bagnole mais celle-ci me fait un effet Canon!

as Henk said, these cars are part of Cuba, not a cliche, but really part of everyday life. Didn´t see many in this perfect condition, all the other ones reflect the real economic situation of this wonderful country.

this car looks beautiful, I imagine this one is a real eyecatcher when you see it driving through the streets. Very well composed image, the low POV is interesting, and just as Henk I`m impressed of the straight lines of the buildings. Well corrected. With these wide angle lenses you often get these barrel distortions, I discovered that with my 17-40mm, but you corrected it perfectly, excellent PP. As usual great work, thanks for sharing!

this fantastic Desoto would by swedish description be Postcolored, It seems that this oldies in cuba having a new prime time as they becoming more and more rare in the rest of the world and that they are such an important symbol for the streets of Havanna.
as other say, fantastic light conditions and a nice contrast with the new built cityscapes.

Hello André,
An amazing shot, an attractive old car, orange light in the evening. I may believe even if someone said here is Miami. It seems that the sharpness applied even to the clouds. It's an excellent result to emphasize the size of the car by using a wide lens.

Cela restera un des symboles de Cuba, ces belles "américaines" toutes coules et chromes de sortie...
Une très belle réalisation et le fait de l'avoir d pris de 3/4 arrière donne une belle dynamique à cette photo.

Not your typical Cuba shot--well okay, the car is yes, but actuallly seeing the car in motion is not. :) This shot looks more like Miami than Cuba, with those high-rises and the nice roads. Love that evening light as well. Great job.

Comment je pouvais ne pas voir cette image avec autant de JAUNE. C'est une voiture pour moi n'est-ce pas ou est-ce qu'elle est si grande que je m'y perdrais. C'est superbe comment les lignes métalliques crée de la profondeur. La nettété est superbe.

I can't add anything to the compliments of all TE people, but I still want to tell you I find this one an outstanding shot!
Composition, light management and color balance are perfect as the great sharpness enhancing the car's body.
The detail I prefer is the low POV and the "long-vehicle" effect it gives to the yellow car.

These fantastic cars healthy. The Cubans make parts with the hand for their cars because they do not have money and in many cases now exists parts.
