Photographer’s Note
This photo is taken before digital photography. I've used my mate's film camera which I can't remember the brand. It has been scanned from a basic scanner and was stored in my PC for all these years until I found it today. It gave me a smile. :o)
I have applied some B&C, played with the colours a bit and added a frame.
Bayahibe is a tiny fishing village to the south-east of Dominican Republic in the Carribean Sea.
...back in the summer of 1998 we arrived first in crazy and dirty capital of Santo Domingo. We stayed for a couple of days but we couldn't wait to get out of the place. We hitch-hiked to La Romana which felt the same as the capital, smelly and filthy. We dicided to carry on until we saw the amazing beaches of Bayahibe from far away.
We walked for an hour through a forest full of palm trees and arrived in this small beautiful village. The entry in the village will stay with me for the rest of my life. The extremely friendly and happy people, the tiny houses, the amazing colours of the sea in the distance...it was the perfect place to chill out.
We decided to stay for a week. :o)
