Isla Saona a tropical paradise Photo

Photographer’s Note

Three weeks ago I visited this beautiful island again, this time with a group of Dominican photographers, it's called Isla Saona.
Saona Island or Isla Saona (in Spanish) is a tropical island located a short distance from the mainland on the south-east tip of the Dominican Republic, near La Altagracia Province. It is a government protected nature reserve called Parque del Este and a popular destination for tourists, who arrive in fleets of catamarans and small motorboats on organised excursions every day. The Island is famous for the natural beauty of its beaches. The island was baptized "Saona" by Christopher Columbus, who discovered it in May 1494 during his second voyage to the Americas (Wikipedia)

Indeed it is a Paradise Island. All the ingredients are there: the white sand: the palms: the turquoise sea. The light was perfect, in particular how it is illuminating the foreground palm fronds.

Great mixture of blues and a nice layer of clouds; all the elements needed to make a paradisiacal setting. Excellent framing.

Bella foto de este lugar captando su extraordinaria belleza.
Creo que hay excursiones organizadas que se pueden contratar en el propio hotel, y por lo que veo en tu trabajo, vale la pena realizar esta visita.
Las playas son maravillosas, su arena blanca y sus aguas turquesa impresionan.
Una composición fantástica, eres un gran embajador de tu país divulgando su belleza en TE.

Hello Emile,

I love this expansive shot of the beach, capturing the magic of the Caribbean. The individuals in the water, almost equidistant, lends a useful regular pattern. The tropical plant in the foreground gives it depth and color. There is one minor suggestion I have, rotate the photo clockwise a fraction amount. (It is running downhill on the left.) If you roll the screen up, you can see it. I think this is a very minor point, but two years ago, I was lambasted by one photographer, at the time the most successful on TE, for not having the Washington Monument plumb or precisely vertical. Incidentally, I just returned from a cruise on your ship and mine, the Crystal Serenity.

What a beautiful picture!
I love specially the colors all over the image (sky, plants, sea)! The exposure is excellent too! The pov was very well chosen and the composition is quite successful and effective, with very attractive visual results! Pretty inviting photograph... to bathe in those warm waters must be so good!
