Horse and cows at the beach

The Samaná Peninsula is located at the northeast of the Dominican Republic. Horses are still the only form of transport for many areas hear on Samaná. Horses can be hired almost anywhere.

Cowboys at the beach - an interesting scene that doesn't exist in Portugal...The cows are even more stranger than the horses for me. Good capture.

Hi, Achim. A strange view, these cows on the beach. You can see that in Corsica, but rarely in Belgium ;o). I like how your image is divided into thirds and how the cows and horses stand out against the water.

A nicely framed shot of cowboys on the beach!! How cool is that? Reminds me of a cowboy I knew in Maui. Although I suppose cow poop on the beach is less cool.

Sur la vignette on pense qu'on a affaire à des touristes mais la photo agrandie révèle que ce sont des travailleurs. La mer est aussi un lieu de travail. Belle atmosphère pour cette photo.

Hi Achim,

It is strange to see cows on a beach. The point of view leads our eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the photo. The presence of the people and of the animals are giving an effect of scale. The light being filterd by the cloudy sky is giving darker colors to the scenery. Have a nice day.

Quite interesting to see cows on the beach! Horses, yes, but never seen cows so close to the sea! Like the layers created by the sand, the sea & the sky...a fine slice of daily life you showed here.

what a rare and kind of funny shot. I have never picture cows strolling along the beach before, mostly in a pool mud or river. I love it, so different. Great chatch. the weather may not be as ideal but you captured the essence of the place and life style. good composition, good color and light management. If I were to change anything maybe would be to crop some of the foreground and bring us even closer to the subject for a great impact. Thanks Achim for this rare beauty and daily life shot.
