Sunrise at Boca Chica V Photo

Photographer’s Note

I have taken an unplanned pause of TE these last days. Sometimes it feels good knowing that TE isn't the only thing interesting to pass the time. :-) Maybe I'll repeat the experience more often, namely to process the hundreds of disorganized shots that I have waiting in my hard disk. I just hope that some are worth. 8-)

I am about to spend the weekend at the beach, so I felt like posting a photo of some beach. This was the first that came in hand, another sunrise in Dominican Republic, which is a more minimalist variant of this earlier post.

Boca Chica is a popular beach some 30 Km East of Santo Domingo, the capital of the country. Apart from two or three major hotels, of which only one has its own private beach, most of the people that frequent the beach are locals. Interessante esta composição, este pequeno poste vermelho ficou parecendo uma chaminé emitindo uma fumaça também vermelha - as nuvens. Ficou muito chamativo, pelo menos aos meus olhos. Diga-se de passagem, as cores estão estupendas!
A sua nota também é muito interessante, uma conduta sensata essa de não deixar um passatempo tomar todo o nosso tempo - tenho tentado abster-me mais e mais também. Até porque, para escolher melhor meus posts, dar tempo de surgir inspiração ;-)

The fine play of light in the cloud formation makes this a nice capture!

Olá Jose,

I find my eyes moving back to the red peg on the corner. I do like the image because of its colours and excellent perspective. I think the clouds is what catches my attention the most because if its soft red colour. Nice image overall. Thanks Jose.

Hi Jose,
It's the light what draws my attention to this one. No light, than only a composition can save an image. But here you found great light in the sky with superb contrast in blue and red and an excellent play with those red poles.
What's that white strip on the botton right corner? I would clone it away, disturbs a bit my view.

Bom dia José, alguns minutos mais tarde?! Mas que grande alteração - uma tempestade abateu-se sobre as vossas cabeças em menos de nada. Gosto bastante do minimalismo desta imagem e da relação desta chaminé vermelha que parece estar a cuspir a nuvem - sem dúvida que o fizeste de propósito :D Eu era capaz de ser mais radical ainda e cortar um pouco mais em baixo para retirar a guarda azul.

It looks like it was taken later in the morning than the first one from here, when the pink was starting to fade. The more minimal composition has less impact too. It has its own charm though and I like how you have placed the red pole on the edge of the pink reflection. It feels peaceful. I really like the WS and wonder why you didn't save it for a later main post. I just think you may have over-sharpened it as I can see some halos round the silhouettes. A minor issue as if you do post it you can resolve that. A good presentation

First of all I must say to you that I like much the photograph in WS and it deserves a publication, the management of the light is excellent I find and this palm tree in back-light is more beautiful effect. For this photo its attraction it is this marvellous sky with these varied and soft colors. One morning calms very pleasant, thank you José.

Levantar cedo custa um bocado mas tu aproveitaste bem.Esta está um pouco diferente, mas também bonita, especialmente graças à cor da nuvem. Deves ter conseguido registar a evolução do nascer do sol, isso vale sempre bem a pena.

belle photo de cette vue de la plage avec ces vagues qui se brisent loin sur les récifs.
Votre WS est de toute beauté avec ce palmier superbe, ces paillottes, ces transat,c' est décidé, je m' y évade immediatement grace a vos photo j' y retournerais en rève une fois couché..

Ya veo que tu también estas muy ocupado con tu trabajo.
La foto me gusta mucho, no hay dudas que es la luz del cielo y esa nube preciosa que nos llama la atención. Muy buenos colores, veo que las aguas de Boca Chica estaban tranquilas fue un excelente momento para tomar esta estupenda foto. Creo que ya Henk hablo de la raya blanca a la derecha.
Tu WS esta magnifico, merecía un lugar como foto principal.

The fun part of photography is actually going out to shoot and see with our own eyes, then capture it in the lens.

For example, the warm sky of this sunrise and it means you are up early to enjoy more of nature.

hallo jose,
actually,i want to critique you other pictures.but this one caught my attention.i don't know why. maybe it's not perfect photo.i think,it has something wrong in the composition or something.. but if i consider profoundly in the details,i met the interesting inside.i can't tell what? maybe colors, light or the minimal looking.maybe this photo is unusual for your style,i guess.anyway it's nice shot and resonable to get the big smile.
i may experiment as you do in the next time..

este es un lugar que quiero visitar algún dia, sin duda. Tu foto es muy bella, la composición sencilla y el resultado estético de la imagen es fuerte y con un gran atractivo.
El palo rojo en primer plano intenta atraer nuestra mirada, que sin embargo se va directa hacia la magnífica vista del mar y de estas nubes tan espectaculares, con una luz y unos tonos muy bonitos.
La foto comlementaria del WS es realmente una maravilla, podría ser perfectamente la foto principal.
Excelente trabajo, amigo mío.

this is nice by the simple graphical effect by the poles and also the colours, mainly red and blue. The workshop has an interesting mood, very different to this.

It is amazing to see this sky. Texture and colours of it are great. The red post is well placed in the picture. The border of the ramp is symmetrical and makes a good framing at the bottom. Pleaseant and calm atmosphere.
