Flying away Photo | TrekEarth

Photographer’s Note

Taken during our "safari" to Isla Saona, a government protected nature reserve called Parque del Este with a group of Dominican photographers.
The birds were resting on this old trunk looking for little fish to eat, when our boat approached they flew away and that was when I took this picture.

Just as they are flying away so I'm going to fly this Sunday on a trip for a month to different countries in Europe, this is my last photo before my visit.

La nature à le don de transformer un arbre mort en une sculpture s'intégrant parfaitement dans le paysage. Les volatiles semblent vouloir rendre hommage à cette sculpture naturelle.

Salut Emile,
Très jolie cette photo avec tous ces mouettes qui volent autour d'une pièce de bois de mer aux belles formes. Je viens tout juste de terminer une sculpture que j'ai fait avec une pièce de ce bois. Les couleurs sont superbes surtout le bleu azur de la mer. Je vais garder la photo car souvent j'ajoute des mouettes à mes peintures quand c'est au dessus de la mer, je vais t'en emprunter quelques mouettes si tu veux bien car j'aime bien la distribution, il y en a dans tous les sens.

I love this lively shot from your Suburb of Paradise, with the seagulls taking flight, below them a large driftwood as the launching pad.

Do you know the site on the internet to get live views from the Serenity? Here is the port view on the Serenity at this moment, you can click on "Ship's live view" in the bottom right and see the view from the Port Side View from Serenity

For a moment I was puzzling what you mend by the title. I wandered if the birds were flaying the skeleton of a whale or something like that. But I understand that they were flying away and where afraid that you would flayed them.

The timing of the shot is excellent as is your choice of shutter speed to have these gulls frozen in flight. The water is inviting with the turquoise tone and the old dead wood pivots the shot well. Possibly keeping it a bit to the left? A fine shot as it is though

Aprovechaste bien el árbol muerto y los pájaros para hacer la compo. Es una vista que hace soñar, si no estuviera estado ahí quizás dudase que eses colores pudieran ser naturales.

J'ai cliqué sur cette superbe photo de ces oiseaux en plein vol sur ce fond de ciel bleu, avec la mer qui reflète la couleur du ciel. Cet arbre mort ressemble lui-même à un grand oiseau. C'est très beau, superbe.
