This picture is taken while overlooking the jungle of Tikal from the top of Templo V. This pyramid is with 58 meter the second highest of Tikal (Templo IV is 64m). A very steep wooden set of stairs, built next to the pyramid, leads to the top.
The picture shows the pyramid of the Great Jaguar; Templo I. This pyramid is the most photographed and therefore became the icon of Tikal, but the other high pyramids actually look very similar.
In the middle and left of the picture there are some views of the Arcopolis del Norte between the trees. |
