This is a RP, and just FYI : I tried today to ameliorate a bit this photo, but all those taken during my last travel to Haiti are in the smallest size, all taken very hastily and often like here, only one shot : on my own, I was nevertheless constantly accompanied by 3 persons in the area of Port au Prince for security reason = the driver of an old private "tap tap" or collective taxi, my personal (unarmed) bodyguard and a professional guide, a woman ; they did not want to linger for too long in that neighbourhood...

So many opportunities for good or fun photos were missed !... There are in Haiti plenty of interesting hand-painted slogans and publicities ; I found this advertisement for milk both cute and also hilarious for Créole (and French) speakers… Créole ("Krèyol") is written phonetically, which is also amusing in French as our orthography is one of the most difficult, at least in Latin alphabet...

But I should first explain about "La Vache Qui Rit" (The Laughing Cow) (Wiki here), a real institution in France but also abroad : "Originally launched in France as La vache qui rit in 1921, the brand is now sold in more than 90 countries. According to the Groupe Bel web site (which produces this preserved cheese), 125 portions of the cheese are eaten every second around the world". Obviously, the Haitian artist has been inspired by this example, here in Laos... (and here, in Morocco)

Créole : "lèt agogo, vaniy- frez-zorange-zabricot, 100% lèt bef peyi" =

My translation in English "(good) milk, "à gogo" is slang for "as much as you like" - with vanilla, strawberry, orange or apricot (flavour), 100% beef’s milk (not cow’s ?) from our (good) country"

(in French = "lait à gogo, à la vanille, fraise, orange ou abricot, 100% lait de bœuf (sic) de (notre) pays")

(... and note that the cow seems much more Dutch than Haitian too !)
