Bonjour Isabelle,

C’est la première fois que je découvre ta galerie, et avec elle des photos d’Haïti sur TE.

J’ai lu ton profil et j’apprends que tu es designer graphique toi aussi, alors nous partageons le même métier et la même passion de la photographie. Je dois aussi souligner que tu as beaucoup de mérite d’avoir dédié une année de ta vie pour une cause humanitaire, dans un endroit qui n’est pas évident...

Ta photo témoigne de la dureté de la vie là-bas, à la fois en voyant cet enfant dévêtu et le contexte dans lequel il se trouve. C’est une image plutôt difficile à regarder, alors je n’ose imaginer ce que cela a pu être d’y vivre.

Excellente photo évoquant ton expérience et la souffrance de vivre en Haïti.

S’il n’est pas trop tard, bienvenue sur TE!

I look at a photograph not totally from it's technical aspect meaning composition, lighting, colour or even the quality of the image itself (in reference to grain, noise etc). To my mind this photo would be totally out of context if it had been tweaked to enhance the colour and the contrast in PP. The outer walls and the subdued dull colouring captures the essence of the place, the mood and the desperation that I feel for the child in this bleak environment. Totally evocative Isabelle. If I may say something though I would like to give the child that little bit more light to emphasise him/her. Beautiful thanks for sharing.

Excellent shot - very artistically appealing but also a piece of photojournalism. I quite like your Haiti portfolio. Did you visit as a tourist or are you there in some other capacity?

It's almost hard to say "I love this shot" given the subject matter, but for me, it brings back a flood of memories and related emotion. Years ago, I stayed in Haiti for two months, and scenes exactly like this one don't soon leave one's memory. Thank you for shedding light on the darker side of the Caribbean.
