I remember the date because it was my birthday. The night before had been the Captain's Ball and everyone had dressed up in their finest Titanic mode finery. Early next morning we found ourselves docked in the wonderfully beautiful harbour of Labadee, Haiti, and we also found this remnant of the night before's revels, a young girl asleep in a deck chair in her red gown. And you know what? She didn't look at all the worse for wear. Ah, youth!
