Photographer's Note

I'm so sad what had happened in Haiti. I was just in this moment near Montego Bay on Jamaika - only some hundreds kilometers far away.

Bakery in the North-East of Haiti. Pita bread is a simple, consisting essentially of crushed or ground cereal and water. The dough is unleavened and is prepared with little or no yeast. He is baked in thin cakes - the finished product are only a millimeter-thick up to a few centimeters. Here they are called Tortillas made from corn or wheat flour.
