Photographer’s Note

This is my 3rd. picture posted of my cruise series around the Caribbean Islands.
It was around 7pm when I was walking in the upper deck of the cruise line looking for a good sunset shot when I saw this photographer taking a picture. The picture was taken few hours after we left Labadee in Haiti. See my previous shot here
Fortunately we had beautiful days and the sea was calm as a mirror during the whole week.
A Coucher de Soleil 1 lens was used.

Emile, tu fotografia se ha hecho mas interesante en cada nueva presentacion. Me gusta mucho la manera en que has combinado el horizonte con la curvatura del deck para dirigir la atencion hacia el fotografo. Muy bien lograda,

Hola, amigo Emile,
desde luego, siempre he pensado que una de las cosas que se pueden disfrutar en un crucero, entre muchas otras, es la posibilidad de vivir magníficas puestas de sol, como la que nos ofreces en esta bella imagen.
Fantásticos tonos naranja en el cielo que se transmiten al resto de la foto, donde las sillas de la cubierta crean un bonito efecto gráfico, y la silueta del fotógrafo nos hace sentir lo especial de este momento.
Es una foto muy buena, me gusta mucho.

Beautiful sunset photo over the Caribbean Sea. I like the warm colour of the sky a lot. The photographer is well placed in the composition and I like also the repetition of the chairs. Good work!

Great sunsetshot taken from this huge ship.Even without the üphotographer`s silhouette this shot would have been good,now your composition is perfect.Nice orange tones and good diagonal of the balustradeand nice curve of this row of chairs.

Beautiful colors, very interesting POV. I think your exposure was just perfect, not get a huge flare from the sun, yet have the darker areas also well illuminated.

Rxcellent exposure with this warm golden light, with good POV and framing of the silouhetted photographer... very good sharpness too. I think the line of chairs is an eye catcher and give quite some dynamism.

Hi Emile. This is a crime that this picture does not yet have 100 points! I've never seen such a good sunset picture taken from a boat. The silhouettes work to perfection here. You did a great job of keeping the bright sun under control. Fantastic shot Emile!!!

Hola Emile,
The orange cast makes me feel warm and the boat fence and photographer stand out well, but I find the glow of the sun too strong, did you try closing the lens up to f/20 to reduce it ?

Ohhhhhhh... es la luz la clave de esta foto. Las siluetas en la foto toman una dimensión especial porque están bañadas por este color mágico que rodea toda la foto.

Con todo, reconozco que preferiría una vista más panorámica (eso es clásico en mi). Pero ya así es una foto con un resultado muy bueno.

Very effective use of line, pattern, and silhouette in this image. The photographer and the amazing oranges of this sky are what make this photo so much more than a typical sunset image. You capture a very inviting flavor of Carribean travel and present it well.

Creía que ya hubiera criticado esta antes.
A primera mirada, el pov parece algo vulgar, quzás por el tema, por tener el sol en el centro, no sé, pero de echo es mucho mas más interesante do que lo parece. La curva de la amurada del navío la hace muy interesante gráficamente, los colores son divinales y el ajuste de exposición impresiona por el echo de practicamente no haber ue ni ruido.
La soledad del fotógrafo produce un efecto de "espejo" - el fotógrafo fotógrafa el fotógrafo.

Hola Emile, sunsets have this attractive effect on us that we can't resist, even if we have seen thousands of them. This image is no exception, for the excepcional light and marvellous tones spread around the image. The foreground has a lovely graphism and our 'colegue' ;-) is placed well at right of the composition. Mostly, it's the fantastic mood that makes this image so successful.

En mi último crucero no he visto una hermosa puesta de sol. Me gusta mucho esta toma, con el fotógrafo y las caderas vacías en la cubierta. Excelentes colores en degrade, muy buena luminosidad.
