Photographer’s Note
Many of the houses of Guanaja are built away from the main island, because the sand flies are much worse on the main island than on the small keys. Some people just build houses on stilts with a dock as their front porch. In this picture, a typical back door view can be seen, with the main island of Guanaja visible in the background.
