Photographer’s Note

Vue du camp nommé "Monseigneur Romero" à la mémoire de cet évêque du même nom assassiné par les "escadrons de la mort"(groupes para militaires) durant sa messe à San Salvador.
La terreur engendrée par ce genre d'actions a contribué a remplir les camps de réfugiés,car rien ne semblait arrêter la terreur.
Malgré tout ce camp avait l'avantage d'être implanté dans le paysage,près d'un rio,et d'un village.
Plus tard,ces réfugiés seront déplacés plus à l'interieur du pays pour éviter les "échanges" avec la guerilla du Salvador.
Ce camp était a quelques heures de marche des zones controlées par le FMLN.(guerilla).

Bonsoir Gabriel,
je pense que celle-ci soit une des plus belles photos de ta gallerie.
Le jeu de lumière, le brouillard, les enfants qui semblent être perdus dans ce paysage lunaire rendent très bien l'atmosphère dramatique d'un camp de réfugiés.
Excellent documentaire.

Super le reportage Patick, quelle aventure. Je n'aimerais pas vivre un situation aussi dangereuse. Que les guerres sont ridicules, tristes et innutiles!
Je suis vraiment content de connaitre tes photos, c'est courageux de présenter cette situation critique qu'il ne faut absolument pas oublier...

Great sense of atmosphere in this, with the mist giving a feeling of depth and also of life. This shows that you have captured something ephemeral, a monment that will never be repeated exactly the same way. I really like the black & white treatment too. Excellent!

A beautifully eerie and atmospheric shot patrick, i like this very much. The light off the tents is gorgeous, and the children swinging their arms in the mid ground add something extra to this image, almost dreamlike in effect. Very nice indeed, Jez

Salut Patrick,

What an extraordinary effect! It's difficult to know if we're looking at a picture or a painting! The smoke and the light the dark tones, everything is so beautifull and original, very artistic. And also reflects somewhere the confusion and sadness of this refugee camp.(Je promets la prochaine fois ecrire en francais!)

Hola Patrick, tus trabajos en B/N son muy interesantes pero este tiene un encanto especial, quizás por los rayos de Sol que atraviesan el humo del campamento, quizás esos contrastes suaves, quizás como se adivinan a los refugiados en al cauce casi seco del río, en definitiva es una foto magnifica que hay que abrir para poder disfrutar de tantos pequeños y hermosos matices.

Un fuerte abrazo desde España otoñal y cálida.
