Photographer’s Note
I was on assignment in Honduras and spent a day on the islets of Cayos Cochinos, a protected zone where the Garifuna people live. They're the descendents of Caribbean native people and shipwrecked African slaves living mostly on a subsistence basic. This young girl didn't say anything and just stood there with the nicest smile, probably wondering who I was and where I was from.
