Photographer’s Note

Waiting, and waiting some more, for paperwork at a remote border post, in a place that practically defines the word "desultory." This particular post is along the San Juan River where it forms the border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua. People traveling on the river must stop here even if they don't otherwise set foot on land in Nicaragua. Border guards stand around nearby and look very bored.

wow, this border post is far more relaxing than the one i went through going from Nic. to CR. Very nice job cathing the mood of the place, the man leaning against the way and the one in the hammock watching the other guy work. it looks good in b/w as well. nice job.

Fantastic action shot Ken - how lucky to been able to freeze the action of the sleeper so well and the capture of the crossed foot in the foreground is nothing short of masterful!

uuuuuh! on the other hand did anything move!? A great mood photo of this place - hope you weren't too long there. Did you have a beard when you started?

Nice shot, a decisive moment really, you caught a very good moment here.. i especially like the sleeping guy's position here..quite funny in a way..
