Photographer’s Note

This bird just went to the hairdresser for some new colours. There are so many bright colours on his head, that even the most radical teenager would not copy his hairstyle.
Unfortunately I couldn't recall the name of this fancy birdspecies.

This is one of the captive birds in the 'Summit Botanical Gardens & Zoo', just north of Panama City, along the Panama canal. This small park was established in 1923. Later the small zoo helped American soldiers to identify the tropical plants and animals while being out in the Panama jungle. Besides this bird, several tapirs, jaguars, monkeys, sloths, ocelots and cayman can be found in the zoo. The pride of the zoo is a harpy eagle, the national bird of Panama.
