Photographer’s Note

Kruje is situated 30 km north of Tirana against a steep mountainrange, On top of the town is the citadel.
If you look to the west you can see for miles and miles. If you look to the east you can see the outsirts of the town and the small valley that leads into the mountains.
The town is tied to the national identity of teh country because it held for a long time against the Ottoman troups under the national Hero Skanderbeg.

Hi Gerrit. Great shot from the land of the Sons of the Eagle.And you must have been like an eagle yourself from this vantage point.A minaret would have been nice.excellent details and colour. Regards. Klaudio.

Splendid photo from this romantic country, the optic angle is superb. The shining lights inundating the valley are very beautiful, the distant mountains are wrapped up in mystic light and haze. Not easy photo because of the lights arriving from eye, but you solved it splendidly.

Hoi, buurtje.
Tering wat een view, he! Normaal gesproken je denkt niet veel soeps van Albania (ook omdat we weten over het algemeen heel weinig daarover), maar in de praktijk het tegenovergestelde is waar. Als je hier de bebouwde kom daaruit haalt heb je iets die heel veel op Zion Canyon, Utah lijkt. Schitterend! Ik wens je nog een fijne weekend, tot gauw.

Excellent shot. This one worked out really well from your high POV. The light and contrasts are very good, and the composition is excellent. The town looks beautiful nestled at the bottom of the mountains amidst all the greenery. The wall on the right plays an important role in the composition as it seems to 'hold in' the whole scene as well as pointing into it. You were also lucky with the sky as it tops off a great shot.

The mountain villages are very interesting with their layout on sharp ridges or valleys many times. Here the green texture is amazing while the houses are not disturbing the nature. The silhouette of mountains in different tones are wonderful too. Congratulations. Have a nice weekend.

Love how this narrow valley is chocked with lush green trees and how the orange rooftops are seen above the sea of green.

A good view on this cosy village in the mountains, even if the too strong light was not ideal. Fine composition where it's possible to see a small part of the citadel and the surrounding environment.
