Photographer’s Note
Albania is waiting for visitors.
It seems that most people still think of Albania as kind of forbidden/forgotten country; so the country gets very few visitors.
But Albania is not isolated anymore.
It is a member of the UN, NATO, the Council of Europe, World Trade Organisation, and one of the founding members of the Union for the Mediterranean. Albania has been a potential candidate for accession to the European Union since January 2003, and it formally applied for EU membership on 28 April 2009.
Free market reforms have transformed the economy. Albania and Cyprus are the only countries in Europe that recorded economic growth in the first quarter of 2009.

Hi Daniel,
This picture has changed my mind about Albania. This street looks like any other mediterranean town in Croatia or Italy. However, it's strangely deserted. I guess people are taking a siesta:)

Hello Daniel,
A very interesting photo. I was in Shkoder very briefly five years ago, and I'm pretty sure I walked down this street. The face-lift it has received is astonishing, however well needed.
If all goes according to my plans - no flu intervening - I expect to be back in Albania shortly for a closer look.
Thanks for sharing,
Gert

Hi Daniel.
I must say, I think this is the first photo I've actually had a good look at from Albania. This is clearly a street that has been rejuvenated and restored with pride. The colours of the buildings are superb on this sunny day, despite being on the shady side of the street. It does look very quiet, but clearly the street has been set up for pedestrians. I wonder if there are some nice cafes and bars. Your shot has a good strong sense of perspective and depth. Nicely done, and of real interest.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Daniel,
I don't see many images of Albania and therefore I have the idea that the country is a bit mysterious. This is not true. People are the same in all places. Very beautiful and clean street, I like the colorful buildings, the beautiful potted plants and benches invite passersby to stop and sit. Great composition!

Hi Daniel,
You seem to be right about the fact that there are few visitors here, really not many people around. But this looks indeed like a well worth seeing town, beautiful architecture and colours. This is also a very good POV and an excellent photo!
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hello Daniel,
Nice shot of these beautiful restored old houses.
The soft colours of the façades go well with the light blue of the sky.
Since it looks so derted and you mention that the country gets only few visitors I wonder how easy/difficult travelling in Albania is.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Daniel,
It looks like it is the day of the “colourful facades”. You are the third member I have the compliment with an attractive colourful picture of a common street.

Hi!
Unfortunately I missed this town, when I visited Albania. I visited Albania in 2007 I was really amazed by the beauty of the country. I'm sure I'll come back there again... I hope soon!
Regards,
Ricardo
