Photographer’s Note

The Old City in Salzburg is a true architectural delight, featuring imposing buildings from the Middle Ages, Romanesque, Baroque and Renaissance periods.

In the background, under menacing massive clouds, the Hohensalzburg Fortress, built in 1077, largest fully-preserved fortress in central Europe.

Salzburg is the Mozart’s birthplace and the city where they’ve filmed the Sound of Music, but on this particular day, it was rather the sound of thunder...

I like the composition - capturing the splendid architecture and beautiful roofs /spires. Pity the weather / light wasn't on your side.

This is a great shot of Salzburg, one of my favourite cities. Good composition, great moody sky. Nice work.

Bonjour André,

Très jolie vue de Salzburg, j'aime vraiment beaucoup ce ciel menaçant et cette lumière qui fait ressortir les couleurs vertes des toits mais d'un autre côté, je trouve l'arrière-plan assez sombre. PDV bien choisi aussi.

I like how the white churches and the castle contrast with the dark sky.You embraced here many interesting and wonderful buildings .

Hi Andre - the menacing clouds add dramatic impact here, even though sunlight hitting the foreground would have hightened the contrast, the scene is pure european fairy tale mix of spires and hills.

This is a beautiful picture. Did you get a tour of the castle? I like the roof tops in the foreground.
