Photographer’s Note

People strolling by the river Danube, enjoying a pre-showering August sky. The top and bottom are natural frames, a fragment of a bridge and its shade on the ground...

Spike Jones parodied the "Blue Danube Waltz," recognizing that the river is not "blue," by setting these lyrics to the "Irish Washerwoman" ditty:

Oh, the Danube is green as the grass in the spring
It's as green as the dollar you spent on a fling
It's as green as the paint that you put on the screen
It's as blue as--the Danube is greener than green!

bu yampri sinemaskop foto çok şık olmuş rigocan...
ve bu şıklığı en çok da o siluetlere borçlu...
sadece sol yarısı yeter miydi acaba...

It's very interesting framing with twoo deep shadows at the top and bottom of the picture as natural frame. Good colors and contrast. Splendid composition. Well done!

you know what, deniz? this is pretty good, this photo...first - the solhouetted men make this special "drive" to the left hand side...second - the "natural" framing adds a special "cinematic" flavor to the image...
a tasty, good work...
(without the group on the left it would be rather midiocre...but you already know this, i think -)))

Yatay ve dikey çizgilerin oldukça iyi yerleşimi -özellikle suyun yeşili kesen çizgisinin tam 1/2 de yer alması- o çizgiye eşlik eden üstte köprü ortada güverte ve altta yol çizgilerin doğal insan figürlerinin ve direklerin son derece özenli yerleşimiyle doğal ve yapay grafikleri içinde çok iyi barındıran bir çalışma... Fantastic natural panoramic effect from the shadows, Deniz. Love the timming, I mean, the way the sillouettes at left are attached to the edge of the shadow. Good perspective effect and strange green color on the river - but as your note teach us, it seems natural like the brown is on my last posts ;-) Very creative compo.

Elongated format works well to capitalize on these natural shade providing elements without eating too much of the summer light, there's also a nice contrast between the people grouped in the shade opposed to the boat in the light, an image that is indeed more sophisticated as it seems at first glance.

My feeling here is that I miss something but don't know what. It is a very nice picture, summer day, good shadows, good perspective and everything, colours, sharpness. But I do not get into the mood, to me it's not as striking as the latest ones you posted...:-), very personal opinion of course.

Very good Deniz. You used shadows and light in a perfect way. Your frame inside the frame is a great element and the way your work spans left to right is my favorite thing here. It's a great photo!

Cok fotograf kacirmisim, en ilgincinden basliyorum. Bunu ozenerek, dusunerek cektigin belli. Kadraji kesen yamuk cizgiler goze cok guzel gorunuyor. Ama ben en cok suyun rengini sevdim. Basit bisi ama o tuhaf yesil fotografin butun havasini degistirmis. Sanki masmavi olsa goze bu kadar farkli gorunmeyecek. Bos gokyuzunu de guzel saklamissin.

Oh, I've been here, I've been here!!! So I know the place, not very interesting, but your photo looks very lively. I like especially the vivid colours, the people in the shadow and in the sun and the natural borders.
