It is happening frequently that a modern building is becoming the landmark of a town: often new museums have this appeal.

The Kunsthaus Graz is one of these interesting new museums. I liked it very much, both inside and outside.

It was built in 2003;the gigantic building affectionately called the "Friendly Alien" by its creators Peter Cook and Colin Fournier, in form and material, stands out consciously against the surrounding baroque roof landscape with its red clay roofing tiles but nevertheless integrates the façade of the 1847 iron house. E stata la stessa storia in Parigi quando hanno fatto il museo Beaubourg... e adesso e pieno di robe cosi! Cui la luce e colori sono ottimi, un bel punto di vista in alto, e un inquadrattura panoramica interessante... Sembra che entra poca luce in questo coso!

Brrr, doesn't look any friendly to me!!!
I only encourage architectural experiments, but can't they place their products of imagination somwhere separately from the old town?...
Like in Valencia, I liked it very much: they built the whole complex Ciudad de las artes y las ciencias. It stands separately, there is space for everything... you can see and enjoy, and still breath freely. I am afraid, this Friendly alien suffocates the old buildings.
The photograph is great, Livia. It does show the way this place is built. Some may like the building and some may not, but the illustration is great.
