This morning I did my daily bike trip, the last night it had snowed again.
I liked this place to take a picture of this quiet place.

Donk - Maldegem

Donk is a church village in the Belgian province of East Flanders. It is located in the municipality of Maldegem, against the border with West Flanders. The place is on the Heirweg, which formed the former connection between Bruges and Antwerp.
Donk was originally a Frankish settlement.
The 'Brezende' farm probably comes from an old Frankish court or allodium. There would originally have been three farms, of which one is ultimately left, of which the house dates from 1739. Remains of walls and a well, as well as remains of ramparts and canals, are still witnesses of the former situation.
Donk was associated with the Abbey of Zoetendale or "Dulcis Vallis" in ecclesiastical sense. This was founded in 1215 by Beatrix de Pola and her son Jan van Meesen. The abbey lay where the craftsmen Heille, Moerkerke and Maldegem came together

I hope that you enjoy it
