Lissewege Flemish village

History:
Between Bruges and Zeebrugge, not far from Dudzele, lies the peaceful village of Lissewege. It is nowadays known as an artists' village. Lissewege is also called the white village, after the whitewashed walls of the houses. Nowadays agriculture is the most important form of industry. However, it was mainly the cloth industry that ensured that Lissewege used to be one of the richest and most densely populated villages in Flanders, although another source reports that the village in the Middle Ages had barely 500 inhabitants.
I hope that you enjoy it
