2019 After the fall of snow (6cm) with my bike to Middelburg 10 km + 10 km back.

Middelburg Belgium.

Today Middelburg is a charming miniature village in the far corner of East Flanders, but that has ever been different. During the Middle Ages it was a real city with a beautiful castle and an equally interesting and turbulent history. The rich past of this once bustling city and its prestigious castle may now be largely hidden, the street plan still corresponds to that of medieval Middelburg-in-Flanders to this day! Middelburg was therefore the first village in Flanders in its totality classified as a protected archaeological monument

Hallo John,
Dit is wel een heel mooi winters gezicht op het stadje met niet alleen een mooi laagje sneeuw, maar ook een aantrekkelijk zonlicht en een strakblauwe lucht. De compositie is mooi in balans en het kerktorentje staat keurig in het midden.

The length of the edge is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings. The reflection of the light on the snow has a good effect on the colours. Have a nice day.

A nicely illuminated winter composition. The snow covered hedge makes an excellent frame and lead-line drawing us into the wider scene. Agreeable natural colours and excellent sharpness.

It's a wonderfully crisp and clear photo with fine colours. The thin layer of snow creates a very pleasant atmosphere which is enhanced by the strong light. The view of the trees and buildings is very nice.

Beautiful snow landscape, I like the tree branches also the backdrop features to give added depth where focus falls on the steeple. Interesting peaceful location and well composed shot, taken from a good angle with the bonus of deep blue sky. Lovely shot

Hello John,

This is the best type of snow, when it just dusts the surfaces, to create a magical impression but doesn't block roads or prevent walking!
Your viewpoint uses the hedges well both as a guide and to create a strong f/g triangle, and I love how well the focal tree is positioned.
The light and the colours are lovely for a winter's day. We often get grey skies when the weather is snowy but here, it looks a great time to be out and walking!

Superbe image avec ce bel arbre qui a reçue la couche de neige il est imposant et ressort dans ce ciel bleu quelle image et captage et cette haie verte la neige ces toits quei ressortent et le clocher le tons sont superbes après la neige quel effet et vue.

De winterse lucht en het besneeuwde landschap zorgen voor een prachtige foto.
Het voelt koud aan maar ik veronderstel dat je warm ingeduffeld was.
Opvallend dat de kerktoren niet heel hoog boven de daken uitsteekt.
Mooi samengesteld en perfect scherp.

This fresh fall of light snow under a bright sunlight looks gorgeous. Excellent sharpness and punchy light contrasts. The red roof contrasts well with the blue sky. The snow covered hedge adds lead in lines. Tfs!

Dag John,
Zo is de winter op zijn mooist. Een laagje sneeuw in het landschap volop op in de winterzon. Heel wat beter dan zo’n grauwe dag als vandaag waar we de hele dag op sneeuw wachten en het uiteindelijk gaat regenen.

Hi John,
the name Middleburg reminds me the town in which I currently live: Middlesbrough.
Nice winter capture, the snow decorated the view so pleasantly!
The village seems so clean and tidy. The light in spite of winter rather warm, and plenty of shade as usually in winter.

Hi John,
what a beautuiful sunny day in January in your country, it's not very usual.
I love this blue sky as a beautiful backdrop for the nice image of the village covered with snow, and its traditional architecture.
The light and the colors ara great, and I've can see a high sharpness in the picture.

Hello John,

Riding a bike on slippery roads and through snow can be quite risky so I am pleased that you managed your journey to here and back home safely.

A beautiful winter scene with the tall tree well placed on the left and the strong diagonal line of the snow-capped hedge underlining the composition perfectly. The focal point, of course, is the pointed tower in the centre - but also your electric bike at far left! (I read Malgo's note!).

Gorgeous light, rich colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.
