2019: Territory Damme, a field between Damme and Moerkerke

This batch of flax was finished and is now waiting for further treatment

The flax continues to inspire innovation to date. Traditional linen, formerly an everyday fabric, has now been promoted to luxury textiles.
Cigarette paper or money is made from clods. For a long time, the loams no longer serve to fuel the boilers of the rotaries, but are now used to make loam plates or as ground cover for horse stables. In 2006, ex-cyclist Johan Museeuw launched the hybrid flax fiber carbon bicycle, replacing the regular carbon frames.
The medical world also has its flax applications. The fibers are made into suture and linseed is an indispensable ingredient in many diet products. The possibility of using flax fibers in the manufacture of windmill blades is currently being investigated. The applications seem almost endless ...
