[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
This is a small town by the name of Bruges. It has a really cool medieval feeling to it, and makes some of the best Chocolate in the world (in addition to lace and beer). I only got to spend one night there, but I manged to get a couple decent photos. Unfortunately I didn't have a tripod, so I ended up using a low wall for stability (hence the slight fuzziness). Not too much post-processing yet, just a little color correction.

Nice shot Essie! I like the warm tones you've captured here, but it's the reflections that really make this shot for me.

If it were mine, I'd consider cropping some off the bottom of the image - whilst your composition has things on a third, I feel the black part doesn't really add to the composition here. Also there's a fractional tilt too, unless it's intentional consider rotating it ~1.2CCW. I also suspect a little fine detail sharpening wouldn't go amiss, although when I experimented with that, I didn't get as much extra fine detail as I'd expected - how does the original image look at 100%? If it's not as sharp as you expect, remember to use a remote release and mirror lockup if you have it. Since you're shooting with a tripod I'd be tempted to shoot at f/8 - it usually gets the most sharpness out of the lens, and it has the added bonus of increasing your DOF (depth of field) too!

A nice note - you're just a few words short of being rate-able, so if you want note ratings it might be worth saying a little more ;)

Anyway, nicely captured :D

Welcome to TrekEarth!

nice nightshot of the beautiful Rozenhoedkaai/Quay du Rosaire with the belfort in the bg, essie! :-)
good composition and pov, just a little bit soft on the focus - did you use a tripod or set the cam on the wall?
nice job for a start & best wishes, thorsten.

Hello Essie

Welcome and congratulations for this view of Bruges in the night.
The reflection is very well capted in the other symbol of the town: the water.
Good day
Pascal
