Photographer’s Note

Another a old picture out of my archive, this picture is taken in it forest from Ryckevelde, on 4 mile of Bruges.

I wish everyone a very nice weekend.

A forest is an area with a high density of trees. There are many definitions of a forest, based on various criteria.
These plant communities cover approximately 9.4% of the Earth's surface (or 30% of total land area) and function as habitats for organisms, hydrologic flow modulators, and soil conservers, constituting one of the most important aspects of the Earth's biosphere. Historically, "forest" meant an uncultivated area legally set aside for hunting by feudal nobility, and these hunting forests were not necessarily wooded much if at all.
However, as hunting forests did often include considerable areas of woodland, the word forest eventually came to mean wooded land more generally. A woodland is ecologically distinct from a forest

De très belles couleurs de l'automne. Un magnifique contraste entre les couleurs plus rouges du tapis de feuilles et le mélande jaune et de vert pour les feuilles encore sur les arbres. J'aime aussi le chemin qui invite à la promenade.

Dit zal wel een topper voor je worden want hij knalt hier het scherm binnen. De kleurbalans is schitetrend met ene mooie verzadiging. Maar naast al die kleuren zit ook eht perspectief heel goed in elkaar...prachtige foto.

A masterpiece - your photo and this near to nature place as well! Perhaps the colours are a bit too saturated but the light you caught here is gorgeous, as the scenery is. This alley seems to lead the eyes to infinity - nearly a 3D-effect.

Hi John,

It is always such pleasure to vistit your gallery. You always find that you have posted a new excellent picture. This one is really beutiful. You make good very good use of the backlight and colours. For me it is a bit fascinating with all these yellow leaves on the ground and still very green leaves on the trees. I would be very interested what trees it is. I guess it is a beech forest but I am not sure. TFS and have nice weekend!

It is amazing the amount of dead leaves on the ground. It makes a perfect red carpet which seams to be undisturbed by any human being. Of course, you were there but even thou it is beautifully preserved. The different colour stages on the trees are an excellent representation of the season and make the upper half of the picture extremely attractive. Well done.

het is er een van vorig jaar John.
Ik ben ook al wat aan het neuzen geweest maar het valt op het ogenblik nog wat tegen met de herfst kleuren. Dit is een goede foto john eentje met Uw handtekening erop. gelukkig kon ik hem meteen openen, want ik begin dat gezeik hier op trekearth een beetje zat te worden met dat trage gedoe. Maar, misschien gaat morgen alles beter. In ieder geval een fraai fotowerkje.

The point of view leads our eyes along the path to infinity giging perspective to the photo. The trees are a natural frame to the path. the filtered light brings out the colors of the fallen leaves and of the trees and is civing a good contrast to them. Have a nice sunday.

J'espère que je pourrais faire ce genre de photo dans le parc de Versailles avant la fin de l'automne, car si le vent qu'il y a aujourd'hui persistent les feuilles n'auront pas le temps de rougir complètement !!! Très belle photo ici avec un magnifique mariage des couleurs sublimé par une lumière subtilement gérée. J'aime beaucoup le point de vue sur l'allée qui offre un belle profondeur à l'image et une belle invitation à la ballade. Merci John.

Very lovely autumn colors and nice path leading away even though it is just a small one. The green trees and floor leaves really strike a good simple contrast.

Malaysia has not such season but I posted a tropical one that
shows our color for a small spot of garden scene which is not normally seen.

Beautiful color of red, green and yellow. It's a little mysterious for me to see this forest for the first time, why ground is red though the leaves of trees are green. Anyway, the management of light in the difficult situation is excellent indeed.

Hello John.
It is coming on Spring here in Australia, but still wonderful to see these warm autumn tones. Your photo seems very simple, but the careful composition has made a 'V' shape in the foreground with the trees, and the path on the right has incredible depth. Beautiful layers of autumn colour with the light falling so nicely through the green leaves in the middle.

A simple forest detail John that works well with the contrast of fall colours to the still green leaves on the trees. You also use well the path at the right to open up for our view.

You've got quite a lovely gallery, and I didn't know where to start, but this one looked as good as any. :) This is a great forest shot. I've always found them hard to pull off due to the high dynamic range inherent in shooting a clump of trees with light behind them. You handled it quite nicely here, although the trees in the distance are a bit overexposed. I like the use of the path. It leads the eye along without blatantly doing so. Very nice.
