‘Brussels – Comics and the City’

The world famous character Tintin was created already back in 1929 (by Hergé or Georges Rémi).
But Belgium has a lot more comics to offer than just Tintin.
As a matter of facts Belgium is the country in the World of the strip cartoon. If you like to know more about it, visit the museum ‘Belgian Center for Comic Strip Art’ in Brussels. Website: http://www.ebru.be/Other/Musea/musbd.html

Many of those comics are painted on walls in several Belgian cities.
Between July 1991 and today 33 walls of buildings in the center of Brussels have been decorated with paintings of comics. A list of them can be found on: http://www.ebru.be/Other/Strips/StripsHome.html
(website only in Flemish and French).

On the picture you see ‘the Scorpion’ from Enrico Marini and Stephen Desberg. The painting dates from June 2002. Location: Treurenberg 19 between the Saint-Michael and Sainte-Gudule cathedral and the rue Royale-Koningsstraat.

hello Paul

Interesting comic feature on the wall and a finely composed view of the street scene. I think you placed the comic wall at the right spot to catch all the attention of the viewer. I like the split of buildings into 4 parts - the right side, the comic wall, then the pink wall and to the left, the sloping diagonal buildings.

The road bend curve just at right placement to make it itetresting. Good work.

tfs, bill

Hello Paul:

The blue atmosphere is observed that is in this urban area.

The meçajestuosidad comic undoubtedly is the essence of the picture, with a sound position within the frame. Too bad the cable that crosses the outlet, they are always elements that scorn a composition, but that can not be avoided.
