Photographer’s Note
The Belogradchik Rocks (Bulgarian: Белоградчишки скали, Belogradchishki skali) are a group of bizarrely shaped sandstone, limestone and conglomerate rock formations located on the western slopes of the Balkan Mountains (Stara Planina) near the town of Belogradchik in northwest Bulgaria. The rocks vary in color from primarily red to gray to yellow; some of the rocks reach up to 200 m in height. Many rocks have fantastic shapes and are associated with interesting legends. They are often named for people or objects they are thought to resemble. The Belogradchik Rocks have been declared a Natural Landmark by the Bulgarian government and are a major tourist attraction in the region.
Bulgaria Belogradchik Rocks are on 4th Place in New 7 Wonders Ranking.
The Belogradchik Rocks are competing with 260 other landmarks from 220 nations all across the world. The global campaign is organized by a Switzerland-based NGO.

Hello Plamen,
What a wonderful landscape view from Bulgaria. Makes me tghink of the wide expanszes you can see in the US...
A fine foreground with the sculpted rocks and than the rolling hills sharp and clear disappearing in a gorgeous sky. The colours have been quite saturated and I normally prefer more natural colours, but here it works very well to accentuate this stunning landscape.
Regards,
Paul
