Photographer's Note

this is wooden work from the 17th century.it was made by a monk in the Rila Monastery for over 15 years. it was made just by his hands and one very small needle as you see. (it was forbidden to take picture it... and as you see i had a little trouble for this picture... :) ) it is a wooden statue, on which there are over than 30 scenes of Christ's life. this is just one of the two sides and they are whole with different scenes on it. the legend goes that after the first part (the most importanat - the one with scenes) was finished the monk got blind (he was just 30 years old) and he could never see again... very sad story and it is true :( btw to i have to say that i did't have the opportunity to make a bigger picture cause one really big lady was comming to me..so i couldn't :) she was a "little" mad at me, but it was fun :)
