[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
This is a road sign I saw on my way to Kamchia River, when I took my other two shots allready posted.
Though I knew what it was supposed to mean, I tried to look at it through the eyes of the unprepared tourist and started to laugh... Just imagine: if you dare to take this road, according to the sign, you are going to
- First: have some romantic.. ;-)
- Second: the police comes and you will have to deal with them and explain a lot of things.. :-I
- Third: you certainly will need first aid after that...:-(

The real meaning of the sign actually is: the road leads to camping place with the name "Romantic", and there you can find a small police station and a doctor - to ensure your security and wellfare, during your stay.
As it was a moody weather, I took the sign for the needed gulp of fresh humor and it certainly brightened up my day. Hope it will yours too. :-)

Post processing: cropping, just a bit saturated, increased contrast and brightness /it was veeery cloudy day/, sharpening.
No frames available for now, so I didn't put any.

All kinds of suggestions for improving are welcomed!

PS /added on 01.05.2004/: today I noticed that the sign is no more there - seems it was taken away. So what you see here is already a history..;-)

It´s great to see shots from you, Maria – I´ve really liked them...

And especially this one. Great mix of text/graphic symbols and white/blac/red colors. And rust ;-) I agree with clodreno on your choice of framing.
Yes, Keep on shooting and posting...

Graet shot, superb idea, good framing and rendering. Excellent note. Keep shooting.

Good one, Maria. I might have fallen for the "unprepared tourist" kind of reading ;-) Other than that, it's graphically interesting (as pointed out by Olli). As far as cropping, I would suggest to either crop some more so that the whole frame is just the sign, or go for the Claude variation of showing a bit more space around, and/or some of the sign pillars. Nice note. Keep on bringing them.

Well seen, and is also nice of you to try the untrained eye. There are many signs everywhere that just work if you already know the meaning. Nice tight crop too.

good idea !
can be alittle ironic too !
waiting for the next shot !

Totally different Maria from you previous shot, but I kind of like this one. interesting note too. I think you were right to leave a bit of space on every sides for us to be able to see it's a signpost..
Keep going.

Nice example of that an "unprepared tourist" can face in a foreign country. You explained this very fine - I like the humour ;-)
I also happen to find Danish signs - but have never dared to post them.
The photo itself very fine - good work indeed Maria.

This is funny. Your "natural frame" is good. It is an interesting TE picture as it tells us about thge nuances of other cultures. The story it tells makes this a good picture. Thanks to your notes.

Just looking through more of your back catalogue, and this one is very funny. Yes, I get it. I've spotted a few funny signs before, but never thought of the snaps as worthwhile photos. Perhaps I should revisit them. One of my childrens' favourites is a guest house in Austria which I can only describe phonetically as the Vanker.

I like it, maybe they saw you laughing!!!!

I was working in neighbour camping side ;)
You should take a photo of a bungalow and compare it to the name of the camp... You know what I mean ;)))

Xaxaxaxaxaxa two points from me!

I'll set it as a topic in some IRC channel!
