| Ribaritsa (population: 1.800) is one of the longest villages in Bulgaria (12 km), located along the two banks of the Beli Vit River, in the northern folds of the Zlatitsa - Teteven Balkan Mountain – part of the Central Balkan Range. It is also located 120 km northwest of the capital Sofia and 156 km northeast of the second largest Bulgarian city – Plovdiv. Ribaritsa is a beautiful mountain resort with extremely clean air. According to latest measurement this is the area in Bulgaria with the biggest concentration of oxygen in the air. The charm of the Ribaritsa village are the numerous country houses and villas. They are lost in greenery and flowers, offering not only tranquillity , but also the opportunity to feel the unique authentic atmosphere and coziness of the Bulgarian village. Ribaritsa is an excellent destination for many outdoor activities. Several marked hiking routes set out from here to: Benkovski Chalet - 4 to 5 hours, Vezhen Chalet - 4 to 4.30 hours, Eho Chalet - 3.30 - 4 hours. There is one short ski run with a drag lift within the village area as well. |
