[Ligne directrice - Note] Note du photographe
In my childhood the beach of Saint Constantine and Helena has been my favourite beach. Its soft golden sand, the turquise water with no waves at all have made it the perfect place to take your family for a day out. My dad did this quite often.
This was before, some 40 years ago.
Than the regime came, the ruling communist party take decision to start developing tourism there. Hotels were built in the forest near the beach, car-parks, restaurants, bars, sewer plant, biggest casino in Bulgaria.
This was some 25 years ago.
Then the regime fell down and the chaos came ...
Hotels were built everywhere, even ON THE BEACH, replacing the sand with concrete, making it smaller and smaller. Parasols are everywhere nomatter by law at least 20% of each beach must be for free use. In the shalow waters the risk to be hit by crazy jet-rider, water skier, falling parachute or just high-speed rubber banana is getting higher and higher.
This is now. Nothing has left from this romantic beach of my memories. I suppose that's called PROGRESS, but what will be 20 years later? What will our grandchildren keep in their memories?
Cheers and have a careless weekend
Ben

Ben,
Great photo of this nice beach. The lighting and colors are outstanding with nice sharpness and DOF. The repeating pattern formed by the umbrellas leads the eye through the photo nicely giving the shot direction.
TFS,
Asa

wow, seems like a very popular beach.. the repetitive and orderly pattern of the shades look beautiful here.

Hi Ben!
Thanks for posting this great shot.I hope I`ll never see places like this one,it`s too crowded for me.But it`s a great shot, taken from a good POV.The rows of white parasols look great and give the image a good depth. It`s a very sharp image with many fine details.
Regards,Leo

Ben I love to travel to remote places in BC to find hiking trails of remote alpine natural settings. I also love to find remote beaches that only a handful of people know where they exist. I can see the downward digression of progress everywhere here on nature trails and on beaches in the province I live.
Among all the interesting things to see on this beach, its the neat rows of umbrellas that make this photo. It really adds to the photo's charm. Besides the advancement of civilization and culture along the shoreline I would say this photo is outstanding. Thanks for sharing!
